Proposal

I am getting Married!!!!!!!!!!!
So I should probably tell the Proposal Story.....it is a good one, lol.
I decided early in December to ask Celeste on New Years Eve to marry me . I wanted it to be a surprise but since we both had prayed about it and received our yeses and she had seen the ring, surprising was going to be hard. The idea came to me to fly out New Years eve and surprise her while she was home on break. On her property in Santa Rosa there is a tree swing in the woods overlooking a small bluff down to a pond. We had shared a special moment up there over thanksgiving and so I decided that would be the perfect spot to propose. I continued to feign lameness in my ability to come up with a good idea.
Meanwhile Celeste was plotting to surprise me at home at Christmas: I got home after a long 16hr drive..I was so tired. Suddenly Celeste jumped on me. It was dark and it all happened so fast I thought first it was a sister, then was the though get off me strange woman I am almost engaged, finally it hit me. Best Christmas present ever!
So i was good, and able to keep a secret while she visited. I continued to plot with Celeste's mom-Kathy to make the proposal great. Kathy told Celeste that they were having family pictures on New Years eve and that she had a Company breakfast with Celeste's dad-John which where fibs to have Celeste dressed up and so Kathy had an alibi while picking me up. Three days before the proposal i sent two love letters for Celeste's to her mom for her to give Celeste each day. The second letter said "tomorrows letter will be in a special place." She of course new this would be the swing.
Day of the Proposal.
First thing that went wrong is my itinerary never made it to Kathy so she arrived and hour and forty minutes early to the airport to pick me up. So she told Celeste she had to help clean the breakfast up, which Celeste believed.
Second thing that went wrong was while setting up the camera in the tree, I fell and dislocated my shoulder. lol. I was only about a foot and a half in the tree, but the side i fell from looked over the bluff. I fell about 8 feet and rolled another twenty, one of said rolls thankfully popped my shoulder back into place.. Poor Kathy was watching in horror thinking that today was going to include an ER trip. lol. I had mud from the knee down on my right leg, and on my back and arms. I quickly cleaned up the best i could and told Kathy to send Celeste my way. Kathy, still rather shooken up pretended she had fallen and was upset about getting her shoes muddy depositing the last letter to try to cover for the shakiness.
The last letter was on the swing folded in thirds, the second page being my itinerary. On top was the outer box the ring box came in with a bow on top. After hitting record on the video camera i quickly hid in a crack in the bluff below the swing and waited, for what seemed like forever. I prayed so hard that when she came up the trail below me on her four wheeler she would not see me...she didn't. I listened above as she preceded towards the swing. I knew she had seen the box, when she paused for five seconds. I then waited until a little after the footsteps stopped to emerge from my hiding place. She had been thinking first- he better not propose through letter, then- no way, could it be, no, he is too poor. As she read the letter she could see the itinerary through it. The suspense was building. As i came around the bluff up the hill she says "David Shurtleff!!!!!!" I then go to one knee and, well....proposed, lol. She all most cried and we kissed. She didn't hear me say we are on camera, lol, and i didn't hear her say YES, lol. It was a day to remember!
